The first APPROACH-IS project (2013-2015)

The first APPROACH-IS project was an international, multicenter research project on patient-reported outcomes in adult patients with congenital heart disease, with data collection performed from 2013 till 2015.

This initial project aimed to examine the differences in patient-reported outcomes (e.g., quality of life) of adults with congenital heart disease who are living in different areas around the world. In addition, we wanted to learn more about how potential differences in patient-reported outcomes can be understood.

Researchers and clinicians from 15 countries, across 5 continents participated in this research project. A total of 4,028 patients have been included in the project. More details about the methodology of this project have been described in the paper of Apers et al. (2015). The study protocol has been registered at ClinicalTrials.gov (NCT02150603).
